Contrarreloj MadFix Madrid, fixed gear event

MadFix presenta el primer Open Madrileño para bicis de piñón fijo. La competición se compone de 3 carreras estilo contrarreloj clásica. Una carrera en otoño, otra en invierno y otra en primavera. El trazado será de unos 7-10 km y lo daremos a conocer 24 horas antes del evento. La prueba tiene un único ganador y por tanto un único premio, que se llevará el mejor corno de la sesión. E l premio es de un cuadro Leader 721 y horquilla Leader 1806A.

MadFix presents the first Madrid Open for fixed gear bikes. The competition consists of 3 races in classic time trial style. A race in the autumn, winter and spring. The route will be approximately 7-10 km and we will give out 24 hours before the event. The test has a single winner and therefore a unique prize, which will be the best time of the session. In this first prize is a Leader 721 frame and Leader 1806A fork.

“The Red Hook Criterium (RHC) is an unsanctioned race held at night featuring a fixed gear criterium and a 5km running race held over multiple laps of a short technical circuit. The field consists of elite athletes, track stars, amateur runners, professional cyclists, bike messengers, and urban cyclists. The RHC was born in the post-industrial Brooklyn neighborhood Red Hook.

This unique event combines the underground art of street racing with the intensity of high level competition in a spectacular urban environment.

First held in 2008 to celebrate organizer David Trimble’s birthday, the RHC has established itself as a prestigious and much loved event in both the local community and greater athletic world. This fast, intense, and spectator friendly race is the pinnacle of a weekend of events that includes dinners, art exhibitions, parties, and group bicycle rides and runs.”
